The annual RESNET conference officially starts today, but the weekend was filled with preconference sessions, committee & board meetings, and lots of networking and reconnecting. Chris and I arrived Saturday at about 4 o’clock and went out to dinner that evening (photo below right) with the three EVER raters with whom we’re sharing a townhouse.

On Sunday morning, after having breakfast with Peter Troast of Energy Circle, I went to the RESNET Training & Education Committee meeting. Although completely unintentional, I was a master of timing because I walked in late, just asRESNET conference 2011 EVER HERS raters Saturday night they were having a heated discussion about rogue trainers teaching the ENERGY STAR Version 3 class for HERS raters with approval and before the test is available.

Guilty, but not as charged. Yes, we taught such a class, and no, the test isn’t available. But we weren’t completely going rogue. That’s all I’m saying.

In the afternoon, Chris and I set up our booth at the trade show. We’re in the far corner, number 55. We’re on the end, right next to Jason Payne and his EEM Training booth on one side and Energy Circle on the other. Come see us. I’ll post photos tomorrow.

RESNET conference 2011 HERS raters Orlando townhouse pool SundayAfter getting back to the townhouse, I took a dip in the pool and then later we went and hung out with the Florida HERS rater crowd (Arlene Stewart, Walter Stachowicz…) at the house they’re renting in Kissimmee. Turns out, we weren’t the only out-of-staters at the party, as Myron Warden, Myron Katz, and a few others (not all named Myron) from Louisiana.

It should be a great day today. I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of people IRL (in real life) for the first time, going to some sessions, and hanging out (and juggling, of course) at our trade show booth.

I am looking forward to being a part of my first RESNET Conference. It will be great to put faces to so many names from the industry! If we don’t find you, please come see us.

    Exciting things happening!

  2. How about EV branded juggling
How about EV branded juggling balls as conference booth give aways? (Too late for this RESNET conf., but maybe in the future – sorry I hadn’t suggested it sooner). Have fun, Chris and Allison!
