Energy Vanguard Energy Ratings Certifies First Two Raters
On 1 August and 4 August, EVER certified its first two home energy raters, Mel Laubscher and Eric Griffin, respectively. Mr. Laubscher is the engineer for Haven Custom Homes’ plant in Ridgeland, South Carolina, where he has been on the front lines of the green building initiative begun by Haven in 2007. He attained his HERS rater certification mainly to have a better understanding of the home energy rating process as they work with independent raters in qualifying their homes for the ENERGY STAR New Homes label.

Mr. Griffin runs Eric Griffin Construction and is starting a new company, Dynamic Energy Consulting & Auditing, to handle his home energy rating business. He is a builder and remodeler who realized that, with the economic downturn, he had an opportunity to expand his knowledge and services so that he’d be in a better position when the economy turned around. He also will be qualifying homes for the ENERGY STAR label.
Congratulations to both Mel and Eric, EVER’s first certified raters!
